Instruments: Piano Voice Keyboard
For as long as I can remember, music has played a large part in my life. By the age ten, I already knew that music would be more than just a hobby for me, it would become my career. I have been singing and playing piano for over 25 years. I received a BS in music industry studies with an emphasis on business, from the University of Colorado Denver in 2008. I have extensive experience in performance and the music industry as a business, and have had the pleasure of experiencing the local music scene first hand while playing in bands. Read More
Instruments: Piano
I love working with students and helping them getting comfortable around music. I started playing piano since I was 6 years old and experienced different teachers, teaching methods, and musicians. I studied Music Education for the first two years at University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign, then decided to focus in Piano Pedagogy starting my junior year. Not only I have a music degree, I also have a experiences with teaching young children from working as a teacher in early childcare and Child Development Laboratory at University of Illinois. Instruments: Piano Saxophone Flute Bass Guitar
I started teaching two years ago at a private lesson studio in Denver called My Music Skool. My main focus was on piano and saxophone. Now I teach privately as a freelance musician. Two points I emphasize when teaching are practicing at least once a day no matter how long you play and learning what inspires you. There will always be some sort of theory I sneak in whether it's learning scales or building technical skills that will build confidence and ability, but if these devices aren't being applied to the type of music that inspires the student, then learning music becomes discouraging instead of fun. During my studies at Kutztown, I had the opportunity to perform at the Paris Conservatory for the Perkumania Percussion Festival (November 2006); Read More
Instruments: Guitar Bass Guitar Ukulele Double Bass Electric Guitar Acoustic Guitar
I started teaching guitar shortly after beginning the instrument in 2005. Since then I have taught guitar, and string bass consistently as well as being a classroom music teacher for the past two years. I put a lot of focus on younger students developing good habits early and help them see the benefits of regular practice as their passion for music grows. I believe incorporation into daily life is vital to retention and I find ways to get students involved outside of lessons as much as possible. Read More

I'm a classical guitarist from San Diego, and I love teaching the guitar as much as I love playing it. I have my Bachelor of Music in Classical Guitar Performance from California State University Northridge where I studied with John Dearman, a founding member of the Los Angeles Guitar Quartet. In school I was chosen by faculty to play with the CSUN Honorary Guitar Quartet. We were invited to perform at the regional symposium for the Guitar Foundation of America. Read More
