I have been teaching guitar professionally for over 25 years. Aside for teaching guitar on the college level at Lourdes University, I have taught for BeInstrumental, Non-Majors at the University of Toledo, along with my own private studio. My professional performance experience along with my education has lead me to the point where I have found no student that I can not teach. It brought me great pleasure when I would teach my teachers something new. Read More

I have been teaching students of varying age levels for the last decade. I believe it is essential to remember not all students will learn similar material in an idential manner. I believe it is my job to make sure students are continually enjoying themselves, and that they achieve their goals, whether that is to just have fun or to be accepted into a college music program. I have taught classical, jazz, and contemporary music. Read More

I began teaching privately in my sophomore year of high school. I had always known that I wanted to become a music teacher, but this is the time of my life when I really started discovering my potential in the education community. Students that I have worked with have achieved Superior Ratings in OMEA Solo and Ensemble events, have been part of various honor bands and extra-curricular groups. My goal is to get students to become independent in their musicianship, learn how music can effect everyday life, and how they can share the joy of music with others. Read More
Instruments: Piano Voice
During my undergraduate career, I taught lessons to vocal and piano students in the Chicago area. I truly loved working with those students, and I am looking forward to getting back into teaching now that I have settled in Bowling Green. The students that I had in the past immensely inspired me, and I always left lessons feeling positive and hopeful. I am sure that I will be able to find students in this area who can provide me with a similar positive experience. Read More

I try to introduce my students to different styles and genres of music. Their repertoire ranges from dances and songs to variations, concertos and sonatas. In order to be able to play such an array of genres, one requires what I like to call a "laboratory of skills". Scales, exercises and studies, played at the beginning of every lesson, are a way to develop the said "laboratory".While working with little kids I try to combine traditional and Suzuki methods. In order to insure that my lessons are both educational and entertaining I make my little students move, dance, clap and sing. I believe that every student's learning should be catered to for their individual needs, strengths, and weaknesses. Approaching every student as if they are different than the one previously ensures that there is assessment of needs in every lesson. I believe that every student regardless of their ability level will learn something, and should have the opportunity to learn music. Usually for my younger students, we start with whatever book they are learning from in school, and focus on one new scale or two every week depending on how quickly they advance. Read More
