For beginning students, we typically begin with Essential Elements while discovering fundamentals of the instrument and getting a handle on reading bass clef and rhythms. This of course varies on a student's previous experience or comfort with reading music. We progress from there into appropriate etudes that can be quite melodic and entertaining to practice and then beginning solo repertoire, and advance from there. I always encourage students to have a goal piece in mind that they would like to play, especially my adult students, so we can frame our goals around that and set up a plan of action as we move forward. I am an enthusiatic and experienced instructor and I want to share my passion with others. I graduated with my Bachelors of Music in Music Composition from Indiana University in 2004. In 2013, I graduated from the University of Redlands with a Masters degree in Guitar Performance. As well as being an experienced instructor, I am also a seasoned performer.
