I have also spent many semesters tutoring Music Theory to my peers. I work to create a supportive environment for my students that help them to grow as musicians technically and expressively. I began teaching bass lessons when I was in high school. I taught bass for 11 years as an adjunct instructor at the University of Alabama in Birmingham. I also worked as a clinician at the UAB Jazz Summit. Many of my students have gone on to play professionally and a few have gone on to become music teachers themselves. Once the student has worked in fundamentals and get a better understanding of the instrument, I will begin introducing solo repertoire appropriate for his or her level. With that being said, I want to see students succeed when setting their goals, which means I will be able to understand their capabilities along with pushing them to new heights.
