In my school years, I participated in band where I learned the technical aspects of music such as reading and writing notation. After graduation, performing in various bands across the United States has been one of the greater experiences of my life as a musician, and I've had the opportunity to tour both Houston, Texas with the group Members Only and The Carter McKay Band, as well as busking in Nashville and performing in various groups there, all the way back to Birmingham, AL where I have played with several bands and have started my own self titled brand. In 1966 I graduated from Millikin University in Decatur, Il, where I been a full scholarship applied clarinet major. Earlier, I was a charter member of School Band of America-European concert tour. I was also the enlisted band leader for the Alabama Army National Guard Band, culminating with replacing the West Point band in New York and playing a concert at Rockefeller Center in New York City.
