I'm a passionate musician and instructor that recently graduated from Cedarville University with a Bachelor of Music in Flute Performance. I have been playing for 8 years and have put on three collegiate recitals. I have served in the Florida Youth Symphony's Flute Choir, and as the principal in the University Orchestra, Symphonic Band, and Flute Choir at Cedarville. I'm taking a year or two off to bolster my savings before pursuing a graduate degree in performance and going on to get a Ph.D. in musicology. Read More

Before I begin teaching a student, I sit down with them and discuss their musical goals, their lifestyle and vocal habits, and what music they listen to for fun. These questions will help drive my teaching of the student and helps me design lessons that will help them grow. I have been teaching private lessons part time for almost a year. In that short time, my studio has grown to include seven students of varying skill levels. I believe that regular practice is important, and that practicing should be fun. I try to combine classical and modern music when teaching, as both are important to the development of a well rounded musician. I love teaching because I feel as though I learn as much from my students as they do from me, and nothing is more rewarding than helping foster someone else's love for music! Read More

I fell into and in love with teaching my senior year of college when I accepted an internship oppertunity at Northminster Presbyterian where I taught begining music skills through games and team building. Last summer I was offered a wonderful oppertuniy to teach voice one on one at Second Baptist School of the arts, and I learned that I prefered the dynamics of privat lessons with the flexiblity to satisfy my students' needs individually. With my primary insturment being flute, I began teaching private lessons in 2008 while I was still in high school. I taught the younger flute students in the Worthington School Distrct. When I started college, I continued to teach flute lessons and I then began teach saxophone lessons as well. I have been a flute technician for high school marching bands including Thomas Worthington, Slyvania Southview High School and Napoleon High School. Read More
