I fell in love with teaching when I started college years ago and my students have achieved much success in the art world. I adore my students and I treat their voices with extreme care and provide a very positive and relaxed atmosphere to allow growth but get work done. I am dedicated to nurturing voices and serving art. My students are encouraged to audition for productions, perform in pageants and recitals, participate in master classes with elite artists and competitions, record, and explore many other opportunities that benefit their community. My teaching experiences began in college as a sectional leader in my marching band. During my final semester of college I began working at a local music store as a private saxophone instructor. Later in 2006, I started also working with a local high school marching band. These were some of the happiest moments of my life as I got to watch my students grow in their music. Currently I am a band leader of a popular group called Furioso. Read More

My first lesson with all of my students begin with an introduction, where we get to know a little bit about each other. I like to know the goals/expectations of my students. We will also do a number of fundamental exercises so I can get a feel for where the student currently is. For students of all ages, I aim to use the William Adam method while teaching. Simply put, the William Adam method focuses primarily on sound production. Read More

My teaching style is natural, relaxed and yet, very enthusiastic, all at the same time. I have patience in abundance and my continual student affirmation is well received. I give most attention to personalizing instruction for each of my students. My passion for musical expression is contagious and readily shared. It is a joy to teach music, to contribute to the growth and delight that I witness through a student's progress. Read More
Instruments: Drums
I earned valuable skills while touring and teaching and found a niche while working with kids of which helped create my specialized children's teaching curriculum. Whether it's teaching children or adults, beginning classes start with basic snare rudimentary concepts with Stick Control and a Rudiment Dictionary. We then begin to work the moeller stroke on the kit. Intermiediate and advanced classes focus more on pocket, technique, kit maintenance and tuning, originial concepts, and mic placement. Read More
Instruments: Piano Voice Trumpet Trombone Recorder Euphonium
For children, my foundational methods include Leonard, Krueger, Clarke, Arban, Reinhardt, Rizzetto, Pearson, and Rubank. Solo and ensemble repertoire is introduced at the appropriate time. Time is also spent on improvisation, writing original compositions, and learning music that the students have brought to the lesson. For adults, we focus on what students are interested in working on, regardless of their ability level. Many adults want to spend part of the lesson working with the foundational methods, and spend part of the lesson learning one or two pieces of music. Read More
