I have taught privately now for over a decade, as well as in classrooms and given masterclasses to all ages. I worked with pre-K through to the collegiate level in Philadelphia. I also work in communities, bridging gaps geographically and ideologically through musical experiences. I have taught in the United States, South Africa, and Zimbabwe. My favorite thing is to find a way to empower and encourage my students to feel strong as musicians but also as people. Read More

As a recording artist and teacher, my main goal is to inspire others to follow their passion for music at whatever level that may be. My passion for music was cultivated by individuals who believed in my talents and drive for music. I make sure that I do the same for my students. My number one question to students is, what do you want to get out of lessons? By doing this, I am able to design an instruction plan tailored to each students needs. Read More

I have been teaching for nearly as long as I've been playing. In 2017, I graduated Mansfield University with a Bachelor's degree in Music Business while focusing on Percussion. Though I began playing drum set at the age of 5, I've grown to perform and teach in all areas of percussion. I have been fortunate enough to tour the east coast with various bands and have performed in notable venues such as The Orpheum Theatre in Boston, the House of Blues in Myrtle Beach SC, Sloppy Joe's in Key West FL, and Carnegie Hall. For young children, I usually choose teaching books that are more fun and give them a basic start with understanding musical symbols by performing tasks in their books. Once students begin to understand how to read and play, I start to introduce the next level of material for them. For adults, I focus on what they are interested in and give more in-depth theory or compositional discussions if they wish or guide them towards playing pieces they always wanted to learn. Read More

Nothing is more rewarding than seeing one of my students develop a passion for music! Therefore, it's important that each student progresses at his or her own pace. I encourage this by setting realistic goals for my students at each lesson. Acknowledging accomplishments helps fuel a students desire to progress, and makes students eager to learn more. By trying to find out what inspires the student, I can successfully tailor my instruction to their wants and needs. Read More

The most important aspect of music, for me, is to enjoy what you are doing. I entered the world of music as an escape from my rigorous Engineering curriculum. The last thing I want is for my students to become too stressed or frustrated with their learning. Therefore, I ensure that all students go at a comfortable pace while setting challenging, but realistic, goals for themselves. I will work with my students to set a list of goals and push them in that direction so they can experience the satisfaction that comes with such accomplishments. Read More

Instruments: Piano Guitar Keyboard

For a typical lesson Ill teach half basics and theory and the other half songs or anything the students interested in. I am adamant that the student's are practicing at least 30 mins a day. For guitar I strongly recommend using Hal Leonards Guitar method books even if were only working out of it for a quarter of the lesson. For piano I recommend a Hal Leonard book without question. I do pass some handouts of pieces, exercises, etc that I feel are worthy for the student. Read More

Select all the days/times the student would be available to start lessons. Selecting "3pm - 7pm" means the student can start as early as 3pm or start as late as 7pm. It is important that you select as many days and the widest window of start times for each day as possible. That will help us make a match with one of our teachers.
