I am extremely close to my family, living with my mom, grandpa, and three sisters. I enjoy being outside and reading in my free time. In every lesson, I will check in with the student to see how they are progressing and will address any issues that have arisen during their practice sessions. I try very hard to tune into the individual student's learning style and to figure out the best way to communicate my philosophy. One of the things I love most is the shock of parents and students who expect that either they themselves are going to dread the lessons or practice session or that their child will give up and hate practicing. Parents and students tell me how exciting they are to come each week and hit each milestone. I make learning fun! Simple as that. With my primary insturment being flute, I began teaching private lessons in 2008 while I was still in high school. I taught the younger flute students in the Worthington School Distrct. When I started college, I continued to teach flute lessons and I then began teach saxophone lessons as well.
