For younger students, I utilize method books to familiarize the student with reading music. Scales, and whole tones to develop the embouchure and intonation. For intermediate and advanced students an emphasis is placed on mastering the essentials necessary to succeed in the musical ensembles and as a soloist.Articulation, timing, phrasing and dynamics are the key focus to further the players technique. I'm very friendly and patient. Learning music should be enjoyable, and never a burden. My students learn at their own pace and have fun doing it. I'm happy to work with youngters, providing they have a basic grasp of letters and numbers. I have nearly a decade of private teaching experience as well as teaching in group and in school orchestra settings. While in Austin, Joseph ran a successful teaching studio of over 30 violin and viola students that regularly placed in TMEA All-Region Orchestras, UIL State Solo Ensemble Contest, and were members of the Austin Youth Orchestra.
