Not everyone can sing, but secure pitch discrimination can help all musicians (even percussionists). I encourage all students to participate in ensembles (band, choral also). My teaching style is laid back with the full intention of moving forward in both technique and enjoyment. Each Lesson is geared toward the Goals we agree on as Student and Teacher. Depending on age and experience, I set goals at 3 months or 6 months. It is crucial to allow the student to learn at his or her own rate. I have a degree from Wayne State University where I studied Jazz Guitar and Music technology.  I've played in bands ranging from Big Band Swing to Country to Punk Rock playing guitar, bass and piano/keyboards.  My studio is equipped with two amplifiers and the ability to record the student for playback.
