PIANO, FLUTE, SAXOPHONE and VOICE I have been active in the music industry for over 40 years as a teacher and performer, along with holding positions as musical director, arranger, accompanist, and in show production. Growing up near New York City gave me a wealth of opportunities for musical studies and experiences. I first studied with concert pianist Frank Giampolo for many years in Bridgeport, CT. He recognized my love of jazz and incorporated it, along with a classical repertoire, theory, harmony and arranging into my private studies. I then attended Housatonic College where the Costanzo brothers, Sonny and Sam, headed the music department. Sonny is a renowned trombonist in the New York City area who has played over the years with Clark Terry’s big band and now leads his own. One of the highlights into my ventures with jazz was to study under John Mehegan, noted scholar, author and educator. John set into motion the study of jazz theory and improvisation with his four book series on the subject, which is still highly recognized today. Over the years he held posts at the Manhattan School of Music, Julliard and Yale.
Thirty-five years teaching in private studios and schools in Michigan, New Mexico, Utah, and Colorado Private music teacher: clarinet, saxophone, classical guitar and finger picking, beginning piano and violin. Principal Clarinet, Chamber Orchestra of the Springs, 1994-2003. Band Director, Farmington Public Schools; Gadsden Public Schools; Academy School District #20; Widefield Public Schools; Cheyenne Mountain Charter Academy Director of Church Music and Youth Choir, Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church, Littleton, Colorado Shepherd of the Springs Lutheran Church, Director of Adult and Youth Choirs, Colorado Springs, CO Holy Cross Lutheran Church, Interim Director of the Adult Choir, Bell Choir, Brass Ensemble, and Woodwinds.
5 years teaching flute privatelly while in college 10 years teaching middle school band in Texas 2 years teaching flute privately in Colorado
I graduated from the University of Northern Colorado in May 2013 with a degree in jazz studies. While at UNC I studied jazz music as well as classical music. I'm very excited about teaching beginning and intermediate improvisers my own systematic approach to jazz improvisation. I'm also excited about teaching saxophone technique to beginning and intermediate saxophonists.
I used different kinds of methods for teaching depending on the students' abilities and where they are at musically. I usually begin by having my students write down what they want to accomplish by the end of the year, whether that be performing at a recital, memorizing their favorite song, or even just getting through a book. I have found out over the years that goals are so important in life and accomplishing one is great! I also use flash cards to help students memorize musical terms and techniques. Lastly, and the most important method I teach is having the student PLAY! The BEST way of learning music is by playing it! I also encourage parents to have their kids practice as much as possible! I understand school work is the MOST important thing and should come first, however, practice does make perfect. :) I urge this the MOST! Practice! Practice! Practice!

“My son has been instructed by Mark for almost four years. Mark is an outstanding teacher. His credentials are by themselves impressive, but his ability to relate his knowledge to kids is even more so. Connor's ability to understand and read music is fantastic. Mark also knows the performance side of playing drums and has encouraged Connor to actually incorporate his knowledge to play alone and in a band. He is patient and encouraging which is what motivates Connor to work and practice. He is a mentor as well as a teacher. He is superior at what he does and we highly recommend him.” Ro J.

This is the 1st time I've ever taken lessons, and Robert has been a pleasure to work with. I've made quick progress and have enjoyed the process. I'm always listening for those tips that you can't find in a book. I can count on Robert to be strict on the fundamentals and am clear it will make a difference in the long run.

“Lynn has taught my daughter guitar for 9 years. She has always managed to keep her engaged and provide an exceptional learning experience. She tailors the lesson specifically to the student’s interests and abilities. She provides many opportunities for students to showcase their talents outside of lessons. We love working with Lynn.” Maureen Young, Dir. of Finance, Aug 2015

Mrs. Regnarene is an awesome teacher!!! She found musical aids that appealed to my 5 year old daughter and used them to help teach her piano. She has a lot of patience and I could tell she puts in the work before class to have a lesson ready for my daughter. She is always punctual, friendly and respectful. I would recommend her to any parents who want to start their kids off with a good foundation in piano. Jermain T. Riverview, FL

Jessie is the finest musician I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. I find her overall concept of approaching an instrument to be both comprehensive and effective. Each technique she has acquired has made it possible for her to tailor her method to a variety of ages and individuals. I cannot speak more highly of Miss Jessie's abilities. Her lengthy and impressive cradecials speak for themselves. I recommend no hesitation in seeking her services!

Laura is the kind of teacher you wish you had in all your studies: gracious, easy-going, light-hearted, yet behind the easy going exterior is an excellent musical mind with everything at her fingertips. I've had about 5 teachers in my life who count as really influential people, and Laura easily fits that category. She lets you be yourself so that you are fully present rather than old-school doctrinaire style, what I call "stiff as a German, sig-heil" teachers. She's the polar opposite. Brava, Laura! Thank you so much!

Cory is simply the greatest instructor ever! His 30 year plus teaching experience along with his knowledge of ever longer in music composition and performance make a real difference if you're in for learning the right way. Thank you Cory for teaching me not only the chords but also the history behind it and awesome tricks on getting better faster ;)
Select all the days/times the student would be available to start lessons. Selecting "3pm - 7pm" means the student can start as early as 3pm or start as late as 7pm. It is important that you select as many days and the widest window of start times for each day as possible. That will help us make a match with one of our teachers.Ok
Are you sure that's your only availability? The more availability you easier it will be to arrange a teacher for you.
