The Rubank Method offers some solos, but in addition, for the High School student I teach them the Weber Concertino, Mozart Concerto- first movement, Brahms Second Sonata for the advanced High School and College student. Lesson plans for the advanced High School student include scales, major and minor, Rose Etudes and solos. I have experience with a wide-range of children and can accommodate a variety of cognitive and emotional needs. However, I do teach all ages. My youngest student was 4, and my oldest was 72. I have been teaching violin since 2017. Every student's musical journey is unique and I work with their individual strengths to help them achieve their goals. My methods differ for each instrument. For piano I will start with Alfred's basic piano course if the student is a beginner. It helps students visualize the basic techniques for sitting and playing the piano in a way that will prevent injury. From there we walk through the book until the student understands how the keys and reading music works. I don't believe in pushing students beyond their ambition--my expectations are contextualized to authentically meaningful aspirations of each student.
