Instruments: Drums
A lot of teachers that I have dealt with were very rude, and terrible at teaching. My approach is more so trying to build a stable foundation and give the necessary tools to become a great musician! I not only teach you how to play the drums and how to hold the sticks etc, but I also teach how to get gigs, how to get people to notice you, what it means to have your own rider, how to promote your own brand etc. Read More
Instruments: Trumpet Trombone Euphonium Tuba
I began leaning in the Walter Beeler method when I was in fourth grade. I have been exposed to various different methodologies to teaching brass instruments. I would tailor my instruction to give each student the best opportunity to be successful. I will focus on exercises such as lip slurs, long tones and technique, all while trying to throw interesting musical tunes in to keep the student guessing and interested. Read More
Instruments: Piano Trumpet Trombone Saxophone Flute Clarinet
I currently use Essential Elements 2000, but I am flexible if you would prefer something different. I supplement the method book by providing the student with additional exercises that I have found to be helpful in both my education and experience. Read More

I believe in 5 core philosophies in teaching: 1. Comfort is key. Yes, there will be things about playing that are physically challenging at first, but together we will be very sensitive towards avoiding any unecessary tension. Never practice to the point of pain. 2. Each student responds and learns through MANY different methods. Flexibility is my business. 3. Lessons should be filled with tactful instruction paired with kindness and patience. 4. I care about your success and finding what inspires you. 5. Read More
Instruments: Saxophone
I primarily teach the saxophone to younger students, and in this area I emphasize the fundamentals of tone production and the development of the musical imagination. My thinking here is simple: if you understand how the instrument works and you can imagine how something should sound, it takes only a matter of experimentation and diligence to achieve your goals. If the student is prepared to do this, I am there as an enthusiastic supporter and facilitator. Read More
