I believe that students thrive in learning environments that are individualized, so I tend to use a combination of custom lesson plans and materials. My curriculum includes performance studies books, ear training, sight-reading exercises, proper technique, improvisation skills, and songbooks from a variety of genres, all of which Ive found to be incredibly helpful in my personal music education. Instruments: Trumpet Music

As an educator my goal and ambition isn't necessarily to develop future professional musicians. (although I'm happy to do so) For me the more important and rewarding factor is assisting in growing a flame of a passion, love understanding of music performance into a wild fire! I feel the world is a better place the more people who have a first hand understanding and appreciation for the arts. Students do tend to have a better experience the better they get ,so I do my best to inspire them to develop a passion for music/trumpet/jazz, whatever it is that "lights their fire". Read More

One thing I strongly encourage is the student to go at his/her pace. There is no judgement on the capability of learning an instrument and because of that I completely understand how long (or how short) a student can learn the drums/piano etc. I try to make every student feel accomplished in a session especially when the material being taught is new and intimidating. But regardless, there will always be a sense of accomplishment because as long as the student feels as if they accomplished something(small or large) I will make it my duty to make sure they know it. Instruments: Saxophone Flute Clarinet

I have taught all kinds of topics to all kinds of students and like to accomodate the particular interests of different students. I often find that students should set performance goals even if it is just a performance for friends and family. This helps establish workable milestones in the student's progress. I also like students to help model their own education by studying repertoire that interests them. Read More

I started teaching In the mid 80's when I was attending Berklee College of Music in Boston. I've been Consistently teaching since then. In 1994 I moved to NYC and had to start all over as I had to give up my Boston students. After a few months I built up a large student roster that lasted 10 years. in 2004 I relocated to the NJ suburbs, & while a number of nyc students would commute to my new location I built up my teaching practice that eventually led to a number of student ensambles & shows that would sell out The Bitter End in NYC! Instruments: Viola

Mostly I just helped them with their pieces for orchestra and their group lessons at school, but during the summers I would often help them move along in their repertoire and give more of my own technical and musical input to expand upon what they had done in school all year. I currently frequent as a substitute viola teacher and chamber music coach for Karen Ritscher and other professors at the Manhattan School of Music Precollege division. Read More

Select all the days/times the student would be available to start lessons. Selecting "3pm - 7pm" means the student can start as early as 3pm or start as late as 7pm. It is important that you select as many days and the widest window of start times for each day as possible. That will help us make a match with one of our teachers.
