As I have moved to New Jersey, I have taken on my own private studio. I have students ranging in ages 4-50+. My job is of upmost importance; to teach, but also to learn. As an educator I am responsible for encouraging growth and delivering material as efficiently as possible while maintaining a realistic sense of what is achievable. However, it is also my job to learn from the student and be able to adapt and grow to new situations. I started playing when I was 7 and just really haven't stopped. I have always enjoyed playing the piano and also teaching the piano. As a performer I have played in a wide variety of styles and ensembles from giving Solo Recitals to Rock Bands, and playing in Big Bands to Musical Theater Orchestras. After earning my Masters degree in Piano Performance I taught for several years and then began to perform on Cruise ships as the MD of the show band for the next 6.5 years. Read More

I typically start beginner students on the Rubank Elementary Method books for saxophone, clarinet, or flute. These books are a great way to introduce the basic mechanics of the instrument, as well as reading music. I generally like to branch out from the method books as soon as possible, by supplementing the basic reading with other technical studies and pieces. For adults and more advanced students, I like to steer the focus more in the direction of what they want to learn, while still teaching the proper fundamentals of the instrument! Read More
