My teaching experience dates back to my undergraduate experience, where I vocal and music directed 6 student theater productions. This includes providing one-on-one vocal instruction for leads and ensemble members and teaching full vocal scores to ensembles of over 20. I was also the music director of my A Cappella group, so I have experience auditioning, training, and rehearsing a cappella singers. I am also a trained pianist and accompanist, so I provide tracks for students virtually and live accompaniment for in-person lessons and use these skills to provide piano lessons. Read More

Music has been part of my life from a yound age. I started playing piano when I was five. At age nine I entered St. Thomas Choir School, a boarding choir school in midtown Manhattan. At age fourteen I started studying music theory and composition with a local kappelmeister. In university I continued to study classical theory at Syracuse University and then Jazz Theory at Hampshire College. It is a very special experience to be able to see a student progress. Depending on the frequency of the lessons, I will set goals for the student to reach by the time the next lesson occurs. I always make the goals realistic for the student and I try my best to make the goal something that the student will enjoy. I first began teaching in High School, by providing extra tutoring sessions to some my instructor's other younger students. This provided me with a great opportunity to develop my approach for teaching strong fundamentals in a fun way with beginners and younger students. Growing up in the New York public school system, I was a part of the annual New York State School Music Association (NYSSMA) music festivals. Participation in these festivals involves performing a solo audition, which then grants access to perform with the All-County and All-State orchestras. Read More

I am a renowned opera Lyric-Tenor performer as well as a contemporary popular singer. I have received prestigious awards in several fields. In 2002 I appeared as a Soloist Tenor at the Habana-Cuban Metropolitan Main Opera House, Teatro Lrico Nacional de Cuba. I taught students ages 5-7 in the Willie Mae Rock Camp for Girls' Jumpstart program, and ages 8-18 in Willie Mae's Girls Rock Program. At Willie Mae, I taught mostly group lessons. I have also taught group theory and fundamentals lessons at the Brooklyn Music School in Fort Greene, where I work currently as a counselor.
