For beginning students who are children, I typically start with Mel Bays. Once the student starts to understand the book. I will begin to teach solo appropriate for their first recital performance. For adults, I try to find out what music they are interested in and have then tell me they're top song to learn, I try to get them to play something within the first hour. I want then to leave feeling like the you did something and that your money was well spent on my services. Read More

I’ve been playing guitar since my early teens and have my Bachelor’s in Classical Guitar Performance from the University at Buffalo. In that time I’ve built up a lot of experience; both performing and teaching. I’ve performed in many recitals both as a soloist and in ensemble, and have played in the masterclasses of many great guitarists such as the Castellani-Andriaccio Duo, Tom Torrisi, Thomas Viloteau, Xavier Jara, and Leo Brouwer. My passion is music and spreading that joy to others. Each student is different and special. I find ways to tap into the potential of all students (of any age), and assist them in goal setting, using music as a tool in many ways, and building the confidence to continue adding music- performance or not- into their lives. I took a very non-traditional path into music as a career, but I love guiding others in their musical pursuits from a viewpoint of someone who made missteps along my journey, and strive to be the best musician and teacher I can be. I like to have a nice blend between two general areas of study with my students. I ideally like to spend half of the lesson time focusing on the more academic side of things and the other half on just playing tunes. Academic material would include things like sight-reading and basic music theory to truly educate my student about music while playing tunes (of the student's choosing) is a way to make it more of a fun environment. I feel that having this balance will alow me to train my students with a proper education while still being relaxed and having fun. Read More

A lot of teachers that I have dealt with were very rude, and terrible at teaching. My approach is more so trying to build a stable foundation and give the necessary tools to become a great musician! I not only teach you how to play the drums and how to hold the sticks etc, but I also teach how to get gigs, how to get people to notice you, what it means to have your own rider, how to promote your own brand etc. Read More

I have a very fun and unique way of teaching children. This makes it very easy for them to catch on quick and not lose interest. For adults, I jump right into the essentials of learning. I go over scales, and timing. I introduce solo techniques and I always review to keep the student on top of their game. Read More
