My teaching experience is really varied. I teach kids that are beginners, advanced classic/jazz masterclasses and everything in between. I personally love this variety because it gives the possibility to experiment different methods and being open to students feedback so I can build the best lessons for them. When I teach children, I use the adventures piano lesson book. When I see that the student are advancing, I encourage them to further their knowledge. I make sure my students learn the scales; which are very important. I also use the Hanon book for exercises when my students begin to advance to a higher level of understanding. After we performed, we would have a talk back with the kids where they would ask different questions about acting and my experience with singing, and it filled my heart to see so many kids be entranced by theater and inspired to be in the arts themselves. I had another class i high school that focused on bringing arts to different communities around Chicago, and once every couple weeks we would go to a different middle school and play improv games, create scenes, and sing with the children of the schools so that they can learn how to embrace who they are through performance.
