I am an active member of Music Teachers Association of California (MTAC). My students take the Certificate of Merit (CM) test annually in performance, theory, sight-reading and ear training. Taking the CM test is optional but highly recommended. I also make sure my students have plenty of chances at performing on stage at recitals by organizing my own recitals or joining forces with other MTAC teachers. Having a recital to practice for is a great motivation for students to practice daily and gives the parents the chance to see their children's accomplishments. Read More

I tailor each lesson to the individual student and we set realistic goals. Some students want to learn more challenging pieces and we may work on the latter for a few weeks to a even a few months. Other students feel better working on one piece a week and then moving on. I give great constructive feedback to help improve the students rhythm, musicality, musicianship, and finger placement. All of my students practice more when they love a piece so I try to assign them pieces that interest them. Read More

Professional but fun. First we review the last couple of lessons, and then we do new- building upon what we have done earlier. Each student is unique, and I teach to them individually. I call it my Individual Music Program! I really get a kick out of seeing my students learn and progress along the musical staff, as the month go on., Often times I will get a brother and sister for lessons teaching them to play music together and become comfortable performing for family members and the public. My teaching method combines classical tradition with a personalized, goal-oriented approach. I emphasize proper technique, musical expression, and a clear understanding of theory and historical context. I use structured materials such as RCM and ABRSM syllabi for technique and repertoire, and integrate ear training, sight-reading, and interpretation into each lesson. I tailor my approach to each students strengths, challenges, and interests, ensuring balanced progress. Whether preparing for exams, auditions, or personal growth, students receive consistent feedback and motivation. Read More

I use a variety of methods and tries to match the method to the personality of the student. Some of my favorite beginning methods are Faber & Faber, the Music Tree and Bastien. I try to get the student into actual repertoire as quickly as possible and like to use familiar folk tunes as a gateway to more traditional classical music. I try to assess what type of music the student listens to and find pieces that they enjoy and will be motivated to practice. Read More

I am an enthusiastic and inspiring teacher who believes that learning music requires professional guidance to shape not only skills but also the tastes and values of young learners. I connect with my students on a personal level by understanding their interests, challenges, and strengths, fostering a supportive environment where they feel seen and heard. Music lessons are not just about mastering technique—they are about cultivating character, resilience, and a lifelong commitment to growth. Read More
