For my vocal students, I find what type of music my student is interested in, and I then recommend a voice book that we will pick repertoire from. I believe the most rewarding thing about being a teacher is seeing a student come into their lessons excited and passionate about their playing. One of the things I find encourages students to practice is to give them mini rewards when they successfully play a piece or etude, such as stickers or stamps. I adapt each lesson for the individual, their interests and their needs.
