I'm a professional trombonist, composer, and music teacher in Miami, Florida who is dedicated to the study of music. I am a lecturer in the University of Miami's jazz and studio music program, where I have taught music theory, ear-training, and jazz ensembles. I also teach Saturday music theory classes to students ages 7-18 at a local community arts program. Ive been told I am a very encouraging teacher. My goal is to teach the student something new in every class. Lessons can focus on technique, performance, sight reading / singing, ear training, music history, music theory, composition, improvisation, fakebooks and more. Piano lessons can cover everything from how to sit at the piano to using rotational movements to get accuracy in large leaps. I focus on musicality. For beginning students I always make lessons into a game and interest them with funny stories and songs. Once a student has progressed and is genuinly interested in playing cello, I start to study with a more serious repertoir as a easy classical pieces and some popular kid's songs. For children who are at a beginner level, I like to use Piano Adventures until they reach level 2B, and then switch them over to the piano series edited by Keith Snell from the Neil A. Kjos Piano Library to introduce them to the serious study of classical music and theory. At this point, I also begin to create my own lesson plans to introduce them to musical concepts and repertoire they otherwise would not encounter in the conventional methods. Read More

In 2003 I was awarded a scholarship to continue my studies at the Hartt School of Music in Connecticut. I hold a B.A. in Music from the University of Hartford. Istudied Guitar at The Hartt School of Music with Richard Provost, Chamber Guitar Music with Alan Spriestersbach and Christopher Ladd. I have performed throughout the Northeastern United States, including performances at The Hartt School, and at events such as The Connecticut Guitar Societys Guitar Extravaganza Weekend 2005.
