I began teaching when I was 15 years old, which was around the year 1984,in Brooklyn NY.I studied music at Samuel J Tilden High School and taught bass at Meyer Levin J.H.S two afternoons a week after school..In 1989 I moved to Charlotte NC, attended college and began working in various bands.I had to stop teaching for a short period of time due to my busy gig schedule.It wasn't long before I discovered that there was something missing in my life,and that something was teaching music.I have taught students from the ages of 9,which is the age that I started playing, all the way up to 60 years old.I encourage my students to practice and to have fun at the same time.I want them to not be afraid to try something such as listening to their favorite music and attempting to play it by ear.That is what I did when I was taking lessons.It is good training for the ear.When I see my students develop their craft and a love for music, that is one of the greatest feelings. In the collaborative field, I have accompanied vocalists and instrumentalists. I have been the principal pianist in various orchestras and have performed piano in many different ensembles that championed traditional and contemporary works. I began my first tour as a drummer when I was only 13 years old. Since then, I have gone on to tour with many bands. I am the writer and drummer for symphonic metal act Rapheumets Well. I can teach music theory, instrument blending, drumming, novice guitar, bass, as well as piano. I can teach the student how to play from building a deep principles in mechanics. At the Berklee Day Sessions Summer Program in 2011, I played in and directed ensembles of musicians aged 10-13. I bonded with a guitar player and on the day of the recital, got my first private instruction student for bass guitar.
