It is important to me that each student learns at their own pace when I teach. I dont want to force things upon students that they arent ready for, or dont want to do. Because of this, most of my curriculum is based around music of the students choosing, so they keep engaged and wanting to keep learning. I remember always playing music around my friends, and some of them would ask questions regarding chords, melodies, and basic music theory. After having failed music theory in high school, I pulled a ‘180’ in college, passing all my music theory courses with 90-100% scores.
