I ask all of my students to be prepared for their lessons with a notebook and pencil for lesson notes and assignments. I ask them to bring any materials they have and will often recommend books and supplemental material I have had success with. I taught private guitar lessons continuously, while in highschool and college. In between engagements in my performing career, I would always return to teaching. In 1992 I was certified by Dr. L Scott Martin, Phd from Juilliard, to teach vocal performance at his Academy of the Arts in Denver, and I have continued to the present, to coach young singers to express themselves with music. I'm a passionate and energetic instructor who loves working with students of all ages and sharing my love of music. In 1994, I graduated from the University of Colorado at Boulder with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music. Performing as lead singer in a very fun dance/funk band with a horn section has been one of the greatest experiences of my life.
