I have been playing saxophone for almost 30 years. I started in the 5th grade and instantly fell in love with the sax. In the seventh grade, I found a new love, the violin. There was a freshman saxophone player who decided to switch to trumpet, so my band director had me teach her. My teaching experience dates back three years in college. I participated in a program through my University that provides free lessons to students in the Harrisonburg area. My student from this program won $1000 scholarship to attend her dream University in Florida. I believe that all education starts with relationships. My approach to teaching is as individual as each student. It is important that each student learns at their own pace and in their learning style. It is my job to see what the student's best playing is and push them a little past it. I've taught at piano retail establishments, in home and currently I'm teaching in my own studio. I'm a recording artist, singer and composer.
