Instruments: Saxophone Clarinet
I have been playing the clarinet and saxophone for 13 years. I began teaching lessons in high school and have continued teaching since. I went to school at Northern Oklahoma College to obtain my Associates Degree in Music and continued my education at Oklahoma City University where I received a Bachelors Degree in Instrumental Music Education. I have studied under Dineo Heilmann, Dr. Stacey DiPaolo, and Bradford Behn. Read More
Instruments: Piano Cello
I base my teaching out of the Schroeder Violoncello Methods for all ages along with the Schroeder 170 cello studes. Along with that I pick pieces that the student will find enjoyable as a means to keep them encouraged. Usually I introduce traditional classical repertoire at the beginning of their second year as the student is usually more comfortable with the instrument at that point. Read More
Instruments: Guitar Bass Guitar
My passion for teaching is a big part of my career as a musician. I learn so much from my students. My favorite part of teaching is experiencing a student start out as a beginner and watch them develope into acomplished musicians. When I first see that spark in their eyes when they learn their first song is why I enjoy teaching so much. Read More
Instruments: Voice
I've taught in New York City, Los Angeles, and Oklahoma since 2009. In New York City, I teach theatre technique at a musical theatre school. In Los Angeles, I teach Alba Technique at an Actor's Workshop. In Oklahoma, working with children, I've taught ages 6-adult, directing musical and theatrical productions like Grease, Les Miserables, Much Ado About Nothing, and The War of the Worlds. I also teach acting - theatrical, classical, and on-camera - and approach singing from a "storytelling first" approach. Read More
Instruments: Violin
My teaching experience began when I was first selected as the concertmaster of the Baldwin Wallace Symphony Orchestra four years ago! It was my responsibility to organize and run sectionals, where I instructed my peers in the art of refining, practicing, and mastering the challenging orchestral repertoire that we tackled on a regular basis. The following year, I started teaching children between ages ten and twelve. My main objectives were (and still are) the correction of form, the establishment of excellent fundamentals, and helping my pupils understand what's so great and exciting about playing music. Instruments: Voice
I understand that many people take voice lessons recreationally, and that not everyone trains like a college student. I do, however, encourage all my students not to sell themselves short and set high standards for themselves. I acknowledge any and all progress that is made, and encourage my students to be proud of the sound they are making. If you don’t like your voice, then you certainly won’t sing for someone else. Instruments: Trumpet Trombone Euphonium French Horn Tuba
My teaching experience began in 2006. During my college years I taught trombone to fellow students and later as a college instructor and high school band director, taught young adults. My experience as an elementary school teacher has rewarded me with skills to work with younger children. I now work with seasoned musicians as a mentor and coach. I have fun too. I have performed with Kristin Chenoweth, The Electric Light Orchestra, Nancy Wilson, and Ray Charles. Read More
