Hello! I was originally trained as a classical cellist, but I fell in love with the ukulele when I was in high school. In college at Loyola Maryland, I was the president and founder of the ukulele club which was featured on the Today Show with Al Roker in 2017. In the first lesson, I assess the student's current ability and also discuss the student's personal goals and interests in music. Based on this information, I create a daily fundamentals routine for the student to use to improve the basic building blocks of playing a musical instrument. I also allow students to bring in music that interests them from solo material and pieces of music from band class. I usually use Alfred Basic Piano Library Book 1 for beginning young students and Alfred's All-In-One Course for beginning adults. I will combine piano playing and music theory in my teaching. During the lessons, I start with scales, technical exercise, and then solo repertoire.
