I always try to be supportive of my students. I find it beneficial to point out and congratulate them on their strengths and achievements, in addition to areas that may need further work, so as to promote good self esteem. My method is strict, but I also find it important for my students, especially the younger ones, to have fun during their lessons. I began playing piano at 3 years old. I started playing trumpet at 9 years old joining various community orchestras, drum and bugle corps, grammer/highschool bands. When I was 14 or so I started playing string instruments including the guitar and bass guitar, moved to Boston in my early twenties and studied at Berkeley College of Music .
