I am a student at Chatham University studying Vocal Performance, International studies with a focus in Africa, and minoring in Psychology. I am passionate about music, having learned 7 instruments on top of practicing voice, and love to share the knowledge that I have gained. For beginning students who are children, I typically start with Some exercises to get into the position to play and the knowledge about the instrument. Once the student has progressed to have a grasp of the fundamentals, I will begin to introduce solo repertoire appropriate for their first recital performance. While there are certain etude books and pieces that I recommend due to their musical quality and educational value, such as the 32 Etudes & 40 Studies by Cyrille Rose, I allow the student to chose from a list of pieces to ensure that the music we work on is engaging and fun.
