I teach the fundamentals of music, and I make sure you know how to read music. Piano can be a challenging instrument to learn and play, but I can teach you the tricks to make it easy. For example, I can teach you to play and sing Beatles songs in two to three weeks. I highly encourage my students to be creative, but I don't require it. Creativity can be utilized even when you are playing Mozart or Bach. I also teach improvisation, songwriting, and music production with Ableton Live. Read More

I am a Music Processional the same amount of time since I am a teaching professional. I have been teaching private lessons since I was 22 years old and loving to build great musicians that are performing today. I studied guitar under the auspices of both Larry Coryell and Sal Salvador who are prominent jazz musicians that are well versed in all styles of music. I have transgressed their teaching techniques that I have brought to my students young and old. Read More

From my jazz training I help students improvise and create their own artistry. From my classical training I help students to learn to sight read, interpret the page correctly, play with a clean sound and play well in an ensemble. From my folk music training, I teach how to play from chord sheets, how to dirty up the sound to match the style and how to play in styles such as bluegrass, jazz, American fiddle, Irish and Scottish, Scandanavian, Klesmer or Classical. For beginning students who are children, I usually start with simple things as rhythm exercises that awake their musical aptitudes, and also a couple of musical games that allow the children to learn music but still have fun and bring the possibility to engage a very intimate relationship with their instrument. For youngsters and adults, first of all, I try to find out their primary interests and musical preferences, in order to establish a clear and safe path to approach their learning process. Read More

I'm a musician who enjoys teaching just as much as I enjoy performing. I have sung in many operas, sung for many venues including school dances, sports games and on recordings. I have sung and played in multiple genres and continue to sing, perform, compose, teach and conduct. I want people to love music and get involved in music regardless of how far they intend to go with itbecause music can really bless someone's life. Read More

The joy of teaching privately comes from the discovery of each individual studen's relationship with music and helping it to grow. For me, a love of teaching was secondary, a natural consequence of first developing a love for music. By adapting pace, materials, and methods to the individual while still maintaining high standards and remaining positive, it is my goal to help the student find their own love of music via their own path. Instruments: Guitar Violin Viola
My beginners start on violin, and the first few weeks learning the basics of position and posture. Then I start them with Suzuki Book 1 and supplemental rhythm and theory exercises. After book 1, I assess their progress and drive and either switch them to Barbara Barber's Solos for Young Violinists, or have them stay through Suzuki Book 2 and 3. If my students have interest in viola, I encourage them to stay on violin until they are in high school or even longer (through Mozart concertos) if possible. Read More
