My teaching method is based on good old time tested traditional methods. This is combined with whatever new findings can help in easier understanding and progress of students. My students are partially participate in creating their own repertoire. This makes them feel as an active and important member in their own artistic and emotional development. Read More

I've actually written and produced my own music theory book that was in all Borders stores before they closed down. I've learned a few methods and I try to incorporate them all unless the student or parents wants something specific. My method is a method where I can teach 1 thing countless ways. I love my students to learn theory because it is a very important backbone to music. Some people can play instruments without ever really kwoing what they are playing or understand the theory behind it, and I think it holds them back from truely being creative and understanding of music. With my methods students will be able to play from any genre, any book, and hopefully will be able to create their own music. Read More

Hello and Welcome to my Musika Presence! Having been both an avid student and a teacher over the majority of my life, I understand what it is to learn from both perspectives. I have developed the skill and patience to really listen and observe individual aspiring musicians' capabilities, way of gathering information and processing it. I take students from where they are at a particular point in time, toward where they want to be. Read More

My Teaching style is both focused and laid back. While this may sound like complete opposites from each other and wouldn't work well together, it actually does work very well. I focus a lot on figuring out what the student really wants to learn and what will keep them motivated. I'll instill the importance of consistent practice and working hard to achieve their goals but at the same time it all still needs to be fun! Read More

I have been a player, performer, and student of the guitar for over 35 years. Growing up in Western Massachusetts, I began learning a solid classic rock/pop base of guitar music (along with the obligatory heavy metal years as a teen, and playing in garage bands), taking lessons in school and privately. I was later exposed to classical and jazz music, through lessons with Berklee alum Robert Ferrier, and went on to study at Holyoke Community College and Westfield State College, earning degrees in Jazz Studies and Performance. My mother is a math teacher and I've always said her most difficult 4 students were myself and my 3 brothers. I have a 5 year old son who has just started playing guitar and am thinking the same of him. What my son and I have learned from each other though is patience. As I teach him, I've learned to have patience as he progresses. As he learns, he's developed patience with me being his father and his teacher. Read More

My teaching style is very laid back and comforting for students to progress at their own pace. I will always remind students to not rush and encourage them to have confidence within themselves. The most important thing for a musician to have is CONFIDENCE!!!!!! It’s important to develop that at a young age because it will make performances easier as they get older. For older students I will help them develop the confidence because I believe it’s never to late. Read More
