I've been teaching Guitar since I was an undergrad. I began teaching in public schools in 1985 and have taught Guitar, Band, and Orchestra at the Elementary, Middle and High School level. My main instrument is guitar (classical guitar, folk, rock, blues, jazz, country, pop. etc.); I also play and teach electric bass (rock, jazz, country, etc.) and ukulele (all styles). I began teaching music at the age of 15, primarily guitar and piano lessons for beginners ages 7-14 in my hometown of Parker, CO. At 16 I began teaching my students basic music theory and intermediate instrumental instruction. I moved to Boston in 2012 to pursue an undergraduate degree in Songwriting from Berklee College of Music in Boston, still actively teaching throughout my curriculum. Clarinet has been my primary performance instrument, but I have found over the years that the techniques that I use to teach clarinet are easily and successfully transferable to the other instruments that I teach.
