I have been working as an instructor for over 15 years. I can teach all ages and backgrounds, and have a very patient approach. I recently moved to the Denver area, and I am excited to start up and build a new student base. I had my first student when I was in middle school (around 1993). Jumping forward a few years later, I started teaching again around 1998 while attending Bekrlee College of Music. At that time I was only teaching partime but quickly escalated to fulltime once I graduated in 2001. At my peak, I was teaching between 40-45 students weekly. For beginner students, I start with some fundamental basics but I always try to keep the information relatable to each individual student no matter what their skill level. I take a very individualized approach for each student and tailor the lessons just for them depending on what the student is interested in and their skill level. I like to teach by demonstrating information through songs that each student enjoys. I taught Elem./Secondary Music for 30 years in IA and CO. As of this writing, I have been teaching private piano lessons for 35 years. I also served as Colorado (CMEA) State Chair of Elem. General Music and directed award-winning children's choirs, even piloting and hosting various regional honor choral music festivals along the way. I am a church Director of Music at Allenspark Community Church in Allenspark, Colorado.
