I typically start by first assessing whether or not the student has any prior experience in musical training, whether that be in a private instrument, music theory, or just some experience gained from taking music classes at school. From there I develop a curriculum tailored to both the student's current level of musical knowledge as well as what interests them. When teaching and assigning homework and repertoire, I like to offer a balance between what the student wants to learn and the essential exercises that will expand the student's musical knowledge, abilities and muscle memory. Same year I started attending to Lyrical Singing Lessons with another very known composer and opera singer, Mario Rocha. I performed with both clinics in the capital city and many other cities around the country for years but I kept it persistent with Lyrical Singing. I received private lessons for guitar for around five to six years and then started giving them myself at the institution. Lyrical Singing helped me introduce myself in the opera world and had me performed on Opera Festivals every year as part of the choir and also with solo roles at the National Theater. Read More

I'm a passionate & seasoned musician and I have been involved in music since my childhood. I was influenced to music by my mother who was an opera singer and a piano player. She introduced me to music and taught the first lessons. From then on I went to different music schools of great reputation that allowed me to become a good musician. I started teaching music 15 years ago. This experience has brought tremendous personal satisfaction to me having been able to see students from all ages and walks of life starting from scratch and becoming experienced musicians and even playing & recording professionally. I started teaching since coming to miami in the year 2002. This is where I discovered that teaching can be a powerful way to help others improve and cause a positive impact. Little ones develop brain interconnectivity like no other discipline does (not even math!). Teens use it as a way to express themselves in a very healthy and powerful way. Adults have a very good hobby for the rest of their life, or a side business. Read More

No matter what age, or skill level, I always bear in mind, that no two individuals, are the same. Taking that into account, there is always an evaluation performed to gauge competency of the instrument and knowledge of music theory if you're not a beginner. If the student is a beginner, I always start with the basics, music theory, parts of the guitar, maintenance of the instrument. As someone who not only plays guitar, but also buys, sells, fixes, and builds guitars from scratch, I provide a full course of how to play, to how to build one from a kit or from scratch if desired.
