I incorporate songwriting and improvisation into my lessons, as well as songs the student wants to learn. This helps build some positive steps and motivates the student to keep playing. For more experienced students, I use the Berkley Guitar Method, teaching them chords, scales and simple songs which puts the theory into practice.
