My methods depend on the student's age, what they may have already begun in lessons with another teacher, and I also take into consideration the assessment of their learning style-choosing a method that works best for their needs. Basically you could say that I have no 'one' method. I have as many methods as I have students because every single student deserves for me to take the time to get to know them and to find out what educational practices will fit best with their learning style and personality. Instruments: Piano Guitar Voice Music
My music teaching experience began in my undergrad years when I taught private lessons through the Searcy Community School of Music. With my voice students the first thing I focus on is establishing a healthy mode of singing, including elements such as correct breathing, posture, and balanced vocalisation. The songs that we choose together will include areas that allow the student to practice these. It is my practice to choose 1-2 songs with the student each semester, and let them have a free choice for their third song. Read More

I ultimately hope that I can instill my students with a passion for music while ensuring they have fun! I stress the importance of regular practice in order for students to make weekly progress, and ultimately desire to help them develop their playing technique and theoretical knowledge while making room for them to explore their personal interests and enjoy playing their instrument. Since I have a broad array of musical interests, I am accordingly open to incorporating different aspects of musical study such as writing and recording into lessons as students progress, as I find the act of creating something of one's own to be an incredibly valuable part of making music.
