There is always new material coming out and I will also write my own technical exercises if the student needs them. The best way to teach is to teach yourself all over again. I love to set realistic goals, while giving them a harder piece to juxtapose their progress. I never pressure them or bog them down with too much. Acknowledging their progress is always a great way to motivate them. I teach each student different. Depending on the students level, pace , knowledge, strength, abilities , determination and goals. All students will have a understanding of scales, rhythm, chords and progressions . Each one of these will breakdown to their own sub-groups. With them expanding as the student progresses . Once they have a good understanding, we'll going into songs. This is where I show how music and songs are structured.
