My teaching style is individualized to meet the needs of the students. I like to use a portion of the first lesson to discuss the goals and musical interest of the student regardless of age. I encourage beginner students to learn basic theory to develop rudimentary skills. I then try to incorporate a student’s favorite music into the lesson plans. I also strongly encourage voice and guitar students to write their own music to promote self expression. Read More

Music in the school system is taught backwards. If you're a beginner, you were put in a beginning class. this makes it very difficult for students to advance quickly because they aren't playing music with people who are more advanced than them. I make sure the students have the ability to play the instrument before they learn a ton of theory, because knowing how the wrritten form of music work without being able to play them is recipe for frustration. I'm mostly focused on keeping my students engaged with music. Some decide it can be a lifetime career, while others simply want to enjoy all the benefits that come from learning an instrument. Our lessons are meant to challenge you enough so you feel motivated but not so much that the challenge appears as impossible and students feel like quitting. This to me is the basic principle of how to achieve a balanced and successful life. Read More

My teaching methods vary according to the level of the student and the style that he/she wants to play. I have different books for studetns that would like to focus on being blues guitarists or rock guitarists. From the moment that the student will achieve a satisfactory progress about understanding the basics of the guitar, we will add songs that will he/she like to play, according to his/her level. My teaching started in the final years of high-school. I started teaching trumpet to kids. Once I started college in Buenos Aires(Argentina) in a music composition degree I worked with several masters in a multitude of instruments(violin, flute, trumpet, guitar) which i was able to start teaching and performing live. At the same time I developed a craving for movement practice and martial arts. This 'kinetic' approach allowed me to be much better with my students, analyzing their body and consequently their needs in regards to practice. Read More
