Taught privately in the Washington DC area for 3 years before moving to NYC to earn my Bachelors of Fine Arts in Music majoring in Jazz Guitar. I am young but very knowledgeable and I have a knack for teaching. In addition to teaching in the public schools, Mr. Jesse W. has been playing guitar and bass professionally in the local funk band Tha Funkahol-x, and has performed for audiences with George Clinton and the P-Funk All-Stars. In undergraduate school, he studied composition and arrangement with Ricky Ford, internationally acclaimed jazz saxophonist, at Brandeis, and performed in the Brandeis Jazz Ensemble under his direction. I prefer to teach beginners utilizing the Pepe Romero and Christopher Parkening technique. I also prefer teaching all beginning students using the classical method as this provides more variety using the left and right hand techniques. Should students wish to continue on with different styles suchas jazz, blues, latin jazz and so forth, having the left and right hand techniques will make the students far more versatile.
