I am capable of teaching a student as much as they are willing to learn. We will not only learn a piece of music, but will dive into what makes the piece interesting to the student and the theory of music. I was then invited to move back to my college town of Brookings, South Dakota to be their middle school band director. I moved to Sioux Falls and taught in the Catholic School System for a number of years. I am passionate about tailoring lessons to tackle exactly what the student wants to learn. I have found that many teachers have a set curriculum to teach students a certain level on competency on an instrument.
