While still in college, I was a music tutor at North Star in Hadley For two years. I worked one-on-one with students in middle school on both voice and guitar. During my time there, I taught kids anything from different chords on the guitar, to breath support and passion in one's singing, to vocal improvisation and stage confidence. I am a life-long musician [age 5 - present] from a family of musicians who have played with everyone from Fanny Brice (my grandfather) to Benny Goodman (my mother) to Steve Miller (myself). I attended Berklee College of Music in Boston , MA from 1975-1979 and left (5 weeks short of my degree) to perform in a rock band who toured for 5 years in the US and Canada. Having played everywhere from Red Rocks Ampitheatre in Colorado to Elkhorn Resort in Sun Valley, Idaho to Valdez, Alaska to Cobo Hall in Detroit,Michigan, I have lengthy performance credentials and even more varied experience in the styles and situations that I have performed in that include: rock band, orchestra, concert band, jazz combo, folk duo, Big Band, marching band, drum corps, celtic rock band, traditonal gaelic ceili, flute choir, pit band, church choir, chorus, show choir, vocal solo, commercial voice-overs, vocal duet, musical theatre, etc. Read More

Their goal doesn't have to be rock stardom but they have to want to learn! I encourage setting up realistic goals, and giving them tasks and tools to pick up along the way. I was fortunate being exposed to all kinds of music as a high school student in the early 90's. I went to Berklee College of music in Boston, MA from 1996-1997. I transferred to Hartwick College in Oneonta, NY fall 1997. This is where I got to study with Al Gallodoro and developed a love for contemporary classical music. Read More
