I have been studying all aspects of flute culture since I discovered my father's old flute in a box when I was 7. I fell in love the first time I heard him play, and knew then that I would grow up to study music and perform. I began formal instruction in school at the age of 10, and quickly earned the top place in my beginners class. The first lesson is focused on my assessment of a students skills, interests, and learning styles. From there I will determine the most useful resources for each student. I will work with the method book that is being used in a student's school, in addition to method books designed for individual skill development such as the Rubank Method Books or Suzuki Method for string instruments.
