I have been teaching music for over 17 years. My teaching experience includes private saxophone, flute, clarinet, and piano lessons. Additionally, I've given clinics, taught group lessons, and directed bands at various music workshops for grades 4-8. A seasoned teacher, I have had the opportunity to work with a wide range of students, of varying ages, skill levels, and learning capabilities. Years of experience have molded me into a highly flexible teacher, able to adapt quickly and easily to the needs of different learners. Read More

I enjoy seeing my students grow and I understand that patience is the key to success. I move at the pace of the student and I love to motivate my students to be great. Everybody learns differently and I take notice of that. I will run my lessons based on the student's strength and effectively develop the students weaknesses. I am fun to work with! Read More

I've been teaching woodwinds and strings for about 8 years now, to students of all ages and abilities. In that time, I've worked with students making their very first sounds, all the way to helping my students successfully audition for university music programs (often receiving scholarship!). My training and certification in Music Therapy gives me an additional perspective on how music and musical ideas can be used to improve and assist all aspects of life, and in particular I enjoy working with students who possess learning or developmental difficulties. My teaching experience dates back to my College days when I tutored students while a student at Berklee. I have been performing private lessons for the past twenty years. Encouraging regular practice on a consistent schedule is one of the most important key points, as it tends to help the student progress and gain a passion for the instrument. I teach both Classical and modern jazz styles and techniques and the combing of the two can go a long way to help the students enjoy playing more. Read More

I like my students to bring a small notebook, so that they may write their homework down, and any practice assignments. I expect my students to keep a practice log of how much time they practice per week, in between lessons. I always insist that setting goals and expectations for them, is very important, as well as keeping track of whether they themselves are staying on task. I try and incorporate different ways of practicing or playing music, so that even practicing turns into being fun and exciting and doesn't feel like a chore. Read More

I am very flexible with my teaching methods and put together the best style matching the student's learning strengths. Furthermore, I update and change my methods if I feel the current method is becoming ineffective. I keep my lessons interactive with the student because the time is for the student to retrieve as much information as he/she can regarding their instrument and they can build a stronger week of preparation heading into the next lesson. Currently my most used methods are teaching via classical, pop & jazz, and Suzuki methods. Read More

My teaching journey began during my college years, and for the past ten years, I've been sharing my musical expertise by offering private lessons. Over the last five years, I've consistently taught students in my home studio. One of the key principles I prioritize, especially with younger students, is instilling the importance of regular, consistent practice. I firmly believe that this practice routine not only facilitates progress but also ignites a passion for the instrument. Read More
