I was giving charity classes to a bunch of friends from school who later decided to follow up their guitar studies academically and I gave them the foundation. I started teaching because my teacher said I was already good enough and if I could help him teach the other students, so I did until he retired and me and my Duo Partner took over the school. When meeting a new student I like to take the time to know about them. Such as their Hobbies, what kind of music they like, what attracts them to the flute , what kind of future career they are interested in taking and what they hope to achieve from taking lessons. From there I can cater my teaching style to fit their needs. Each student learns at a different pace and I want to set goals each week for us to achieve as a team that are realistic and do my best to motivate my students to work hard to achieve them. Read More

For beginner children, I like to use the Suzuki Method. For adults and intermediate to advanced children, I use a combination of books from different authors e.g. Taffanel Gaubert Flute Method, Marcel Moyse books, for technique development and also many pieces from the classical repertory. I also let the students choose pieces of any style that theyre interested in playing and they can handle. I have developed effective teaching techniques, which allows me to foster a fun and engaging learning environment. Read More
