I am a patient and motivated instructor with an enourmous passion for music. In 2009, I graduated from Berklee College of Music with a Bachelors of Arts in Flute Performance. My performance experience worldwide enriches my musicianship, as well as performing in Harvard University Theather and in the presence of Queen of Jordan Lisa Naheeb. Read More

My passion for teaching began in my Junior year of high school in 2011-2012, when I spent 6 months teaching guitar lessons to elementary school students at a local YMCA after-school program. With a class size of approximately 10-15 students, I learned many valuable teaching methods for students of all backgrounds and learning methods. Later that year, I said goodbye to my students to move to Boston and attend Berklee College of Music, however, in summer of 2014, I revived my passion for teaching when I started a saxophone lesson program at Brighton's All 'Bout Christ church. I firmly believe in starting with the basics of singing for younger students, however they should have fun as well as learn. Giving them a choice in at least one song we do every so often, to me, is the way to keep them interested in the art. As the students get older, I attempt to have them sing in multiple genres and languages, as to broaden their experience and see what they like. Read More

I also worked as a School Aged Child Care Leader at Sandburg Elementary School from 2015 to 2018, further honing my skills in working with children ages 5 to 11. In 2019, I attended Marrowstone Music Festival as a Fellow. This gave me the opportunity to mentor high school and undergraduate flutists individually and during sectionals and to coach a student wind quintet. During my final year at the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign, I also taught a Public Speaking course for undergraduate students. Read More

I can not emphasize enough the notion that the desire to learn is most important in music. A student can not be forced to become a great musician, it first has to come from the heart. The core of my teaching style centers around that. I try to impart my passion for music to the student so as to motivate them into developing a natural curiosity about the mastery of the craft as well as artistry. Read More

For beginning and intermediate students, I like to assign short pieces from method books such as Student Instrumental Course and Rubank. For more advanced students, I will help them explore their particular interests, introduce them to traditional repertoire, and for jazz/rock/pop students, aid them in the process of transcribing the music they love, which benefits their vocabulary as well as their ears. In developing a complete musician, I want to offer support for my students' other musical activities, as well as provide them with resources that they might not have elsewhere. Read More
