My methods vary between each student. For beginning students, that are not learning in a school setting, I typlically start with Hal Lenard's Essential Elements For Band. Once the student had progressed, I will start to introduce solo repetoire that the student will be instested in, which could be pop tunes or other type of music. This will encourage the student's passion for music to grow. If the student is in a school setting, then the student will work on all of the music for school and solo repetoire. Read More

The greatest lessons I have ever taught and that I believe that I can ever teach, are the importance of observation, listening, proper application and the embracing of patience while enjoying the process. I work to customize my teaching to each individuals learning style, and aim to give each student the tools to achieve success in whatever their musical goals may be. Central to my teaching goal is the belief that learning an instrument should be fun and build confidence, rather than anxiety, and I strive to make the lesson experience a safe and comfortable space, where stress is low but focus is high, so maximum learning can take place.
