I'm a very passionate and motivated instructor who loves working with students to share my love of music. I am currently obtaining my Masters of Music degree in Flute Performance from New York University. I began this degree in September 2018 and I anticipate to finish in December of 2019. At NYU, I am an Adjunct Flute Instructor, so I teach privately at NYU to undergraduate students. There are two basic method books for beginners, and comprehensive, themed books for advanced players that focus on Tone, Technique, Articulation, Intonation, Vibrato, Breathing, and Scales. For absolute beginners, I start by explaining different parts of the flute. I first work on the headjoint to make sure the student can produce a good sound with good air without assembling all parts together. After a student gets a good sound, I let them assemble the flute and start teaching one note at a time. I usually start with Essential Elements for Flute Level 1. If a student is more advanced, I use Rubank Intermediate/Advanced Books, and start learning more pieces. Read More
