My experience teaching goes back to high school in which I tutored students in multiple subjects including Spanish and English. I also would help my section to improve as a section leader. During my college years, I worked as a graduate teaching assistant which allowed me to help students primarily in music. I have been playing the clarinet for 33 years.    Although; clarinet is my primary instrument, I actually started my musical career on the viola and have been playing that for 34 years.   During the course of my career, I have had the unique experience of leading a bag pipe band.  I have also made a special emphasis on my studies in Latin percussion due to my background in Salsa music. To me as a musician, teaching is as important and as necessary to our art as performing, and it is always a joy to share that art with students. I graduated from Kent State University in 2015 with my Bachelor of Science in Music Education, followed by a Master of Music in Bassoon Performance in 2019, and recently completed an Artist Diploma from UC-CCM. Although a bassoonist primarily, I've performed with orchestras such as the Kentucky Symphony Orchestra, and the Warren Philharmonic, as well as bands like the Akron Symphonic Winds, the Cleveland Winds, and the Packard Band. I am an experienced and enthusiastic private lesson instructor. I've been teaching for over 30 years and it never gets old to me! I learn as much as I teach from every one of my students. I am a member of the Sinclair Community College Wind Symphony and the Dayton Philharmonic Concert Band. I enjoy playing orchestral, opera, musical theatre and band music.
