I am a passionate flutist that loves teaching flute privately in addition to performing. In May of 2022, I graduated Summa Cum Laude from The Hartt School of Music with a BM in Flute Performance. While I was there, I studied with Janet Arms, flutist of New York City Opera. I have also extensively studied with Dr. Barbara Hopkins, Assistant Principal of The Hartford Symphony Orchestra. Then I will choose from appropriate method books depending on the student's skill level. If a student has a specific path that they want to take or have their own books they want to learn from, I will cater the lessons to that. I have been a private music teacher for 13 years and an elementary music teacher for 4 years. In that time I developed a skill set specifically designed to help students reach their goals. I also work in depth with students who have disabilities and specialize in adaptive music strategies. In may of 2025 I earned my master's degree in education from Oklahoma Christian University. I have been providing private and group lessons through the New England Youth Wind Ensembles for over three years. I have experience with online, as well as in-person lessons. I encourage regular practice to all students, as it is important to develop daily and weekly routines. I will assist students with any materials they bring to a lesson, whether it’s repertoire from school or audition materials.
